Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is launching its first retail store called the Meta Store.
The retail space, slated to open this month, will give customers a hands-on experience with all the company's hardware products and experience interactive demos.
The store is located on Meta's campus in Burlingame, Calfiornia and the goal is to let customers experience technology in real time, according to a Meta blog post.
"Through interactive demos, you can make video calls to retail associates with Portal, learn how Ray-Ban Stories can help you stay present with the world around you, and explore the magic of VR with a first-of-its-kind immersive Quest 2 demo," stated the blog.
"Once people experience the technology, they can gain a better appreciation for it. If we did our job right, people should leave and tell their friends, 'You've got to go check out the Meta Store,'" Martin Gilliard, head of Meta Store, stated in the blog.
The Meta Store also features an interactive Quest 2 display wall, allowing consumers to explore the hardware, its accessories, and the breadth of content available today. There is also a Quest 2 demo area, where customers can try Beat Saber, GOLF+, Real VR Fishing or Supernatural on a large, wall-to-wall curved LED screen that displays what they're seeing in-headset.
The store is 1,550 square feet and the campus location gives Meta the opportunity to keep the customer experience "core to our development," said the blog post.
